Re: Text datatype in a layout.gadget and odd behaviour of DTA_Busy

I don't know anything about the technical details in relation to your problems, but if it looks like the original datatype and library work as expected, and the Enhancer replacements don't, it would probably be better to raise the issue over at amigadeveloper.com.

Re: Assign bug

I'm trying - on the list - to get further information, then I will try to reproduce and report it in BugZilla.

Re: DOS-handler completion with AmigaOS4.1Final

Ah, I see. That's not something I know much about - intuitively I'd think it would be your own code in the handler which should decide whether to shut down or stay waiting when no more callers are using it, but I don't know for sure. Hopefully Colin sees this and has more solid info. Best regards, N...

Re: DOS-handler completion with AmigaOS4.1Final

DOS-handler? Not sure what that is. These are the handlers running on my FE Update 2 system shortly after booting: > tasklist | grep handler 0x504544E0 process 5 waiting 65528 476 CON/con-handler 53.82 0x51FD60D0 process 5 waiting 65528 732 PIPE/queue-handler 53.4 0x5263DE30 process 5 waiting 65528 ...

Re: [FR] Workbench Preferences / Screen title format

Good idea, wonder why nobody has asked for this before.

It's not just the prefs program which needs changing, though, it's also workbench.library itself.

Enhancement request filed.

Re: Low-level formatting of a SSD disk

Okay, that's why I made all those disclaimers. But I decided it would be better to warn about what I know is a danger (or at best futile) on most disks than to be silent and possibly let someone wander blindly into a pit. Sorry if that offends you. I do try to differ in my responses between what I k...

Re: Low-level formatting of a SSD disk

My first reaction to your post is - don't do that! It has long been the rule that modern disks (i.e. those from this millennium or so :-)) should never be low-level formatted.l In the best case, they will just ignore the command, in the worst case, you will ruin the disk. In between is the (normal?)...

Re: Black Screen on Startup Help

Hmm, I'll leave those until I see what developers make of the first one. For the programs where everything is all capital initials, at least they are consistant. I'm hoping we'll have an internal debate at some point about this, maybe even ending up in some standard guidelines ... Finally, I'm not a...

Re: Black Screen on Startup Help

Heh, I had already looked at that and thought I saw a lower case "i", but you're right - it is in fact upper case. Thanks. Edit: Found two more, in the mode edit window: Vertical Refresh and Confirm Changes./Edit. I'll make a report of them all. It's probably not going to be of a high impo...

Re: Bug in shell/cli/console

Yes, sure. It's of little more than academic interest anyway, because that search is only a small first step in the task I have to do (when I get "a round tuit"). It will also be relevant to check the docs in Documentation/C against the ones in HELP:english/, both for existance and for equ...
