Re: New kernels

So I've tested the long-term kernel 6.12.64 on my Xenial system and tested 6.19.0-rc5 on my Mate and Debian systems. All tests proved successful with no obvious issues in logs or in use. Aside from age of systems, differences would be that Xenial and Mate boot with a ram disk, while Debian does not.

Here is the RC4 of kernel 6.19 for X1000 and e5500 machines (X5000/20, X5000/40, Mirari, and QEMU VMs).
Tested on my Mate and Debian installs. Booted up fine. Working well as I type. :-)

Re: New kernels

Could you please test the kernel 6.12.63 because of the new cross-compiling environment?

Hello. Currently testing it with Xenial. Booted and working fine so far on X1000. Modules loaded look like sound module. Do see a harmless message about unmatched mount options in dmesg.

Re: New kernels

Happy New Year. :-D

So tested the 6.19 RC3 on my Mate and Debian installs. I messed up installing the modules to Mate as they were missing. But it booted fine, with a ram disk, showing no module errors in log so the kernel is fairly robust by itself. Typing this from Debian now. Which boots without ...

Re: New kernels

Hi All,

I have released the stable long-term kernel 5.10.247 for X1000 and e5500 machines (X5000/20, X5000/40, Mirari, and QEMU VMs).

So installed to my Precise and testing now. Working fine from what I can tell. I found zeitgeist-fts had crashed but that may be normal with the older desktops ...

Merry Christmas.

So tested long-term 6.12.62 on Xenial, 6.19 RC1 on Mate and Debian, and now currently 6.19 RC2 on Debian. All looks good on all kernels. X1000 builds are working well.

The merge window is over. Linus Torvalds has released the RC1 of kernel 6.19 for testing.
So tested the RC1 on MATE and Debian this time. See no issues. Kernel working at normal capacity.

Re: New kernels

Please try SeaLion on MintPPC.

Okay, so SeaLion can load the Anubis page, but it takes a few minutes to process. Whatever it is doing the progress bar got there in the end and the final page loaded. But the delay in determining my browser wasn't some AI bot makes it practically unusable on PPC ...

Re: New kernels

It boots on the X1000.

I reported this issue to the kernel developers today.

So just tested alphas 3 and 4 on my Mate and Mint installs. Can confirm it boots and works fine here on my X1000 as well. For the X1000 this series is ...

Re: New kernels

Does it mean that amdgpu kernel driver really work on Big Endian ? If yes, it is very good news!

No, unfortunately, not yet. Not in my case. My R7 250 lacks 3d support even with the Radeon driver, since it's too new. And lacks 2d acceleration from what I know. The speed is fine on the desktop ...
