Re: New kernels

So just some feedback from me. Have been testing the alphas from a1 to a5 at present. The a1 was sluggish to begin with as expected, the rest were fine and then the a5 come full circle and was sluggish again. Aside from that the operation worked fine. But in use, such as in a terminal, on the ...

Re: New kernels

So tested the final 6.19 that is working well as expected on Mate and Debian. I'll get onto testing the 7.0 alphas next.

In addition I've tested the 6.12.68 kernel which is working fine on Xenial from which I'm typing this now.

I did see a glitch from my boot loader when unpacking the 6.19.0 ...

Re: New kernels

Hi All,

I released the stable long-term kernel 6.12.68 today.

Some people would say a long-term kernel should last a long time. But that's just me. :-P

On that note that latest 6.18 RC8 boots and works well on Mate and Debian. In fact, it's been working so well, it's almost been a "boring ...

xeno74 wrote: Sat Jan 31, 2026 2:29 pm Hi All,

Here is the stable long-term kernel 6.12.67, created in a Docker Swarm cluster.
Installed and tested on Xenial. Working well and as expected. The 6.18 RC8 is installed but untested at my end so will report back when I've completed this.

Re: X1Boot Manager 1.3 Update

That is not limitation of your X1Boot manager, it is limitation of X1000 firmware. CFE see only two SATA ports: port 0 normally occupied by DVD and port 2 occupied by HDD.

I'm not sure what's up with that. I've looked in the device tree and can only find block devices for two SATA units. But CFE ...

Re: X1Boot Manager 1.3 Update

Ah that's good then. I was recently put on CGNAT that interferes with FTP. So had to take myself off that but don't know what else would interfere.

If you have any issues I'll expect some feedback or complaints if they are bad issues. :-D

One issue there is I found out, or limitation, is that the ...

@sailorMH

Thanks. Hope it will be useful. Sorry, I'm not sure what is going on with the link. I checked it and it works at my end. I selected shareable again if it helps. But my account is full so may need another location. Unfortunately the forums only support images or I would have stored here ...

Re: New kernels

Hello. So have been away at weekend but still managed some testing. Tested 6.12.66 on Xenial and all looks good. Then found and tested 6.19.0-rc7 on both Mate and Debian. That all looked as well and things are looking promising for a final 6.19.0 release on our platforms. :-)

Re: New kernels

So tested the 6.19 RC6 on Mate and Debian. All looks good and performance is as expected. Surprisingly I've been on the ball with this kernel series. :-)

Re: New kernels

Hi All,

I released the stable long-term kernel 6.12.65 today.

So installed this on my Xenial and it is working fine. The last one didn't last long. With these frequent updates the meaning of long term will be lost. :-D

Maybe I'll try shutting it down as well. :-P

So just for fun I tried ...
