Re: Too many problems. Booting, Switching on, Resetting..

Just an idea or two... I also have had times of very erratic booting, sometimes first time, others 10 of more attempts before it worked, I have found most of my problems were down to bad sata connections. The first time it happened I tracked it down to a loose power lead on my DVD-RW, so I made up a...

Re: OS4.1FE did not start.

Another thing to try is to add 'set echo on' without the quotes as the first line of your s:startup-sequence.

This will tell you how far the srartup sequence is getting before it locks up. If the bot screen doesn't close it's not getting as far as startup-sequence.

Re: How to set up a 640x400 screenmode

@Raziel

Do you have a dual card setup? HD cards don't support anything below 640x480, you would need an old R9250 or similar to get that mode.

Why 640x400? but then 640x512 is even more impossible to get full screen if you want it for classic emulation.

Re: Why & Should CPU Core 2 be higher temp than Core 1 ?

@EMBE I suggest you read Trevors post on page two about the X1000 having a custom heatsink and fan because commercial ones won't fit and that the current one is more than enough, Mines never gone over 50°c so is still well below the 85°c lower limit. I tirned off x1ktemp docky as it's just taking up...

Re: I lost my RadeonHD driver

Remove amigaboot_quiet=Y with 'unsetenv amigaboot_quiet' and add 'os4_bootdevice=auto' using 'setenv -p os4_bootdevice auto' in CFE Set both your bootable partitions to the same priority, boot with menu 3 option. Stop the kickstart menu and set the default to FE. whenever you boot from now on FE wil...

Re: Possible 4.1.6 and FE together on an A1-X1000?

Yes, you can have MANY boot options available, with a menu at boot time to give you options, and after a short timeout the partition with the highest boot priority will be selected as default. If you set os4_bootdevice=auto in CFE then have all your bootable partitions with the same priority it wil...

Re: Amiga OS 4.1 FE 4GB ram support?

This week I have installed the FE edition of AmigaOS 4.1.6 on my X1000, including the SWAP partition mentioned in the manual.... feels a bit faster now after rebooting so that is a good thing :) Delete the swap partition, X1000's do not use it. On machines with less ram the swap partition allows th...

Re: Out of memory

Ok. lets clear a few things up here... OS4.x can address around 1.65 Gb of ram, with the older systems where you have 256mb, 512mb or 1gb of ram it's not a problem and you had the pager to swap things in and out of the other available memory locations and stored on the swap partition. A swap partiti...

The simple solution is to not edit the devs:monitors files with screenmode prefs. Just edit them the old fashioned way via the tooltypes. Make sure you do not have a DDCMODE entry and if on a classic you might want DISABLEFAKENATIVE=Yes.
