Re: OS 3.2 FAQ

The latest 3.2 FAQ is on Aminet: http://aminet.net/package/docs/help/AmigaOS_3.2-FAQ

I don't see anything related to 3.2 in Hyperion's download section, too.

Re: Register OS32 on main website

Are you sure you entered the serial number correctly? I registered my CD two months ago. It's shown as Disk Version, too.

I remember that I needed several tries until I understood that all those O's were actually 0's (zeroes).

Re: OS 3.2 on A3000 with SuperKickstart 1.4

[*]I took the same 2.x bonuscode file I used the last time with 3.1.4 Yes, that's a known issue. It just does not work with the 3.2 ROM. You cannot make a 3.2 SuperKickstart disk on your own. You have to wait for the official one. In the meantime you can keep the 3.1.4 superkick and install 3.2 on ...

Re: default drawer window postition

def_drawer.info doesn't seem to hold any information about that It should. Of course you don't see it in icon information. The normal way to change the default window position is to create a new drawer, open it, position and snapshot the window and then copy the changed icon back to envarc:sys/def_...

Re: Low-level formatting of a SSD disk

I *never* recommended low-level formatting of anything. Just like nbache wrote, if you try it, it will at best be ignored by any IDE or SCSI device. What I recommend is to change the logical geometry which is written into the RDB. Alignment is a topic for SSDs and similar flash memory disks. By defi...

Re: Where to pick the default printed page size?

Reading prefs should not be necessary. You can query all the required settings directly from printer.device.

Re: How to free memory allocated by AddTrackable()

I'd guess you don't need to. You destructor function has been called. This most likely means that the system called DeleteTrackable. Just exit from the destructor function and your trackable node will be freed automatically.

Re: Pens and colors

GetColorMap will allocate a new color map independently from the current display. It is of no use for applications. If you need access to the color map of a screen you get a pointer from Screen->ViewPort.ColorMap. How you can get a certain color depends on the OS version and the screen mode. For tru...

more thinking given a partitions DOStype (as something Format can read from the DOSdriver) possibly handling extended arguments, such as enabling Journalling (if optional) or Trashcan/.Recycled folder presence... Yes, I see what you mean. But putting all these options into the standard Format progr...

Re: Sys:System/Format command split...

with minimal modification to the OS It's not that easy. The assignment of a filesystem to a partition is determined by the DosType in the partition table. The partition table is read before AmigaDOS starts. When AmigaDOS starts it mounts all the partitions. That's long before the Format program can...
