Re: MicroA1 dying :(

Gah, should've thought of that myself :-/

The whole micro, se, xe series suffers from "drained battery syndrome"...all kind of followup problems...had some of them myself with the xe.

Great to have the little beast running again...

Re: Picasso96Mode: screen too large for this card

Not sure why Picasso96Mode is still around anyway. I've never produced a useable mode with this. If you want to introduce new screenmodes you should simply add the one you need to your Monitors file System:Devs/Monitors/your-monitor Right-click, bring up information Icon tab Add MODE=800x480@60 to t...

Re: MicroA1 dying :(

You know what?
I was thinking about that while writing my answer, i just couldn't get my head around if the Micros had onboard gfx chips or not.
Obviously they have and my memory is failing me...sorry.

Are you able to hook up a serial to see where it stops?

Re: MicroA1 dying :(

Sounds like a hardware failure on the graphics card.
Do you maybe have a replacement to test?

Re: X1000 not a fan!!

@tonyw or simply use a fan controller like this . (I still use the one that came with my original X1000 case). The five fan (120mm) Amiga case is more silent than the one fan (92mm) PC case. Both cases use the same fan brand (Noctua NFS series, priecey, but the best and most silent there is), but th...

Re: X1000 not a fan!!

...scary side-story... When i switched my heatsink/fan combo i also had heatspreaders on the ram modules and didn't realize that the heatsink did not reach the die, but was infact dangling above it, fixed in place by the too high ram heatspreaders. I did not load in WB back then, but was messing aro...

Re: X1000 not a fan!!

Since this is a very sensitive area where you could permanently damage the underlying cpu, i'll pass on the heavy force solutions (Hammer, drilling a hole in the screws head, welding, cutting a new line into the screws head, etc.) ;-) Isn't there a heatsink under the fan? I don't remember anymore, h...

Re: X1000 will not boot/CFE mess?

AmiUpdate is not Hyperion.

I actually forgot if you need a password for AmiUpdate (the app), you need one for the page, but only if you want to use your own software with it.

Re: New install on SSD problems

Never had this problem with a HD7750 and now a HD7900.

Might be a problem of the series, though
