Re: 3.1.4 free update

Sarcasm? ;) No, that was a quite accurate description of the situation. Now, if only they cold be bothered to also fix the certificates on the webserver, as they expired more than 2 months ago. And then allow me to change password on my user account over https, so I won't have to "re-register" in t...

Why doesn't it work?

FBlit worked just fine with 3.1.4 on my MiST, using the "3.9" FBlit config from IconLib 46.4.

Re: 3.1.4 free update

It is still in progress, like Gulliver said. Always in progress, just like OS4? Between OS 3.5 and 3.9 there was 14 months. Between 3.1.4 and 3.1.4.1 there are now 10 months, and counting... will it be less or more than 14 months? Olsen is apparently hoping for his own private "Summer of Code", but...

Re: Roadshow TCP/IPv4 to include IPv6?

Olsen is really a magician when it comes to networking stuff (what he did with smbfs is phenomenal) but he's just one guy. If someone *could* pull it off, it would be him, but not in his lifetime, i'm afraid :-/ He is truly a very kind, patient and helpful person, and also very talented. I have exc...

Re: Roadshow TCP/IPv4 to include IPv6?

I'm using a FritzBox and since it's based on linux it "should" be possible to implement one of these (WrapSix,TAYGA, Jool) to make it work for IPv4-only targets? Those are NAT64 implementations, which makes it possible for you to run your LAN clients IPv6-only, and still be able to reach IPv4 servi...

Re: Roadshow TCP/IPv4 to include IPv6?

@kolla So, if my router can do IPv4 to IPv6 "tunneling" (i think it's called) would that work? No, that does not solve anything - even if it can tunnel IPv4 over IPv6 (mostly it is the opposite that is desired), it needs an endpoint for that tunnel, and there is still no way for the IPv4 client to ...

Which NAT? NAT64, for example, is for IPv6 clients to reach IPv4 services - not the orher way around.

And as for calling me to ignorant, I have worked with IPv6 for more than 20 years, 17 of them professionally.

Re: Roadshow TCP/IPv4 to include IPv6?

The good news is, you'll never ever need it for an Amiga personal computer. It will always be possible to have a local IPv4 LAN behind your DSL router or 4G modem and let the router do the IPv6 work. Using what router, using what protocols? I have yet to see any transition protocol for ipv4-only cl...
