Re: ClickToFront and Back

Hi Michael,

Thank you for the compliments on the Help subsystem.

Remember you can always customize keys used with the QUALIFIER tool type to suit your needs. Unfortunately, some decisions regarding default choices are bound to backwards compatibility and cannot be easily changed without ...

Re: Defrag & Disksalv for os3.1.4

If you are using flash media you should not defragment those volumes
at all. This applies for example, to Compact Flash cards (CF), Solid
State Drives (SSD), Secure Digital cards (SD), MicroSD cards (TF), etc.

This is because flash media has a limited write lifespan due to its
nature. In ...

Re: Kickstart 3.1.4 A or B, Hi or Lo?

Put the “LO” ROM into the left socket labeled U176 and the “HI” ROM into the right socket labeled
U175. The notches on the ROM chips must face to the left of the computer.

Be careful: Wrong orientation of the ROMs can damage the chips or even your machine!

Re: 3.1.4 in an A1200T BlizzardPPC 060 won't boot.

We have a developer with nearly the same machine specs.

I would try runnning the startup-sequence line by line:

set interactive on

If this is put top in a shell script, for example into the
startup-sequence (with an editor of your choice), the shell will
prompt you for each command it is going ...

Re: AmigaOs 3.1.4 install cdrom

Sorry for the delay.

I don't understand what the modules floppys are for or what is on them.

No problem on the delay, no one is in a hurry. ;)

Back to the point: the modules disk has the contents of the new kickstart 3.1.4 rom divided in its individual components (known as "modules"). They are ...

Re: AmigaOs 3.1.4 install cdrom

Hi Flip971,

Not all advertised Amigas come with a cd-rom, and those that may have one are not guaranteed to allow bootable cdroms. But certainly all of them do come with a floppy drive.

Then there is the fact that 3.1.4 was a progression on 3.1, which came on 6 floppies. AmigaOS 3.1.4 came on 6 ...

Re: VXL32 ram not accessible under 3.1.4

It seems that the memory of that board does not autoconfigure.

This happens because the ram has been set by the manufacturer in a non standard way. And uses a custom program that probably patches a specific rom version. The workaround is to use the AddMem command available in Aminet.

Re: Scanner problems with queue-handler

Hi Anthony,

Unfortunately I don't have the hardware to test this myself. And I doubt other testers have it either.

Since you are open for testing, and have properly reported the "copy" bug, would you be interested in becoming an AmigaOS (68k) beta tester?

PM if you are interested.
