Re: "Hardware acceleration" for videos ?

Did you check if the videos that you're playing are a format supported by your hardware? Hardware video acceleration ASICs don't decode every video format out there past, present and future; they support specific formats, profiles, and level. The HD5000 series was developed in 2009-2010 so they're ...

Re: "Hardware acceleration" for videos ?

Playing a 1080p h264 mov file on a X5000/40 with a Radeon HD6970 (Cayman XT) : Also your CPU usage is very high, taking into account you have 4 cores... With 2 cores it would be difficult to run that video decently. When I tested with Ubuntu to turn off the 'Accelerated video output' in VLC 2.2.2, ...

"Hardware acceleration" for videos ?

When I saw the famous picture of a Sam460 with AmigaOS4.1running two 4K videos simultaneously, with only 8% CPU usage, I was shocked... If I run in X5000/20 (Ubuntu 16.04) with VLC a 720p (1280x720, 25 fps) MP4 video, the CPU usage is c. 80% per core! So is there something wrong in my system, or is ...

I released the stable kernel 5.5.11 for the X5000 and X1000 today.
Seems to work ok... But DPAA still connects only with the 'replug' method.

Running UBoot commands during bootup

I'm looking for a way to run UBoot commands at backround, during normal bootup of X5000. Is there any way for this...? Like some sort of "UBoot startup-sequense" which could be customised?

Re: ScreenBlanker crashes

@nbache Thank you for the tip, Niels! I had totally forgotten it was activated in WBStartup... @Raziel What hardware, how much ram and what resolution do you use? I have X5000/20 with max RAM, Radeon HD 5450 1GB and I use 1280x1024x32. I do not know exactly how long it takes to the blanker to crash ...

ScreenBlanker crashes

I have problems with the AmigaOS 4.1 ScreenBlanker (v. 53.5). It crashes (DSI, Guru 80000003) during the 'blanking'. Also, if I open the ScreenBlanker prefs program, it crashes immediately! So I cannot even try to change it's settings... I can disable and 'remove' it from Commodities exchange, but e...

Re: HDD broken.

I believe it is an ATI Radeon R9 270X. How do i get the updated card files to the CD? I'm afraid it is not possible to update the driver directly on the OS 4.1 CD... I tried a few years ago as I had a similar problem as you, but it did not work. I think the simplest way is to ask a new, bootable US...

Re: HDD broken.

Ok. So, i have downloaded the cd iso and burnt to cd (at the lowest speed). When booting the x5000 all that happens is a Grey screen and nothing more. Any ideas? Which graphics card do you have in your X5000? The OS4.1 CD has only a rudimentary Radeon driver which does not support the newer cards. ...

Re: Kernel 5.6

Tested RC6... It still has the same issue with DPAA - connection is not created automatically, I have to replug the cable.
