Apologies if this has been covered before but I've been unable to find it. I have converted my OS3.9BB4 install on an A4000D to OS3.1.4 kickstart ROM and using the OS3.1.4 version of SetPatch (plus no LoadModule use). Let me answer your points in turn: - It's scsi.device rather than fastata.device, but yes if I boot from HD then MediaToolbox only shows the HD. If I boot from CD then the CDROM shows up as well as the HD (fundamentally, I don't understand why this is happening). - It's not a cable issue nor a CDROM...

Thanks for the input. If I boot from hard disk, the CDROM isn't even detected in Media toolbox. But if I boot from CD the CDROM is there. Interestingly, in this case BOOTCD: is assigned but not CD0: :| It seems as though kickstart is loading the wrong device driver or something. To answer the other ...
