Well, I seem to have sorted it, but not entirely sure why - on a long-forgotten-instinct, I tried copying the contents of Storage/Monitors to Devs/Monitors, and that let me boot into a low res mode, from which I was (eventually) able to select my desired native resolution mode.

I'm not running Candi - it uses 40% of my X1000 CPU in normal mode (and still 20% in "low power" mode, which then looks poor anyway). Good for a five minute demo only

Thanks guys, I've made progress, although I'm not sure how or why! I tried skipping the WBStartup items, and that did start up ok, and I could run apps as normal. I then went through the startup list checking for any with the "wait until finished" option ticked, but none did. I then rebooted again ...

Hi all, earlier today I reset my X1000 (running 4.1FEU2) using Ctrl-Amiga-Amiga, and when it came back up, my docks were missing, and all I could do in Workbench was open windows. Any app I attempted to run anything did nothing (although I think the apps were starting, because if I tried to quit WB ...

I couldn't, but I can now I've added it! All sorted thanks - I got misled by the fact that I already had FE installed, so assumed it must be registered.

Sorry, wasn't clear enough - I bought FE some time ago, and successfully updated to Update 1 (I can't actually remember how as it's a couple of years ago I think). I still don't get the option for Update 2 though, either in AmiUpdate or in the Hyperion Downloads section.

I have a similar issue, but I believe I am registered (I'm running Update 1 already). Update 2 isn't showing for me, just the original 4.1 update 6 oddly. I'm up-to-date on AmiUpdate on the X1000 itself, and it doesn't show Update 2 either (not sure if it should though?).
