Re: X1000 gone haywire
Now resolved. I bought a cable to go from the DVI socket instead of the HDMI, which is odd as I've used the HDMI for years.

Re: X1000 gone haywire
I've managed to boot into the machine by pressing CTRL on the window complaining about not being able to set up the monitor screenmodes. Disabled everything from WB Startup and I can boot Workbench now, but I'm still stuck in BootVGA, which is a bit claustrophobic!

X1000 gone haywire
Hi all!
I came back to my X1000 yesterday having not used it for a few months, and it (at best) launches into the BootVGA screenmode or launches into BootVGA and crashes. At worst it won't start.
It also doesn't display the CFE. It goes straight into the Amiga OS 4.1 splash screen, then tries to ...

Re: Big scare: X1000 died temporarily
Any chance you happen to check the battery voltage before or after removal?
@sundown
I still have the battery, but no multimeter any more to test it with. I am due a trip to Maplin though so I'll try and get one soonish.
X1000 still behaving itself with new battery. And there was me ...

Re: Big scare: X1000 died temporarily
My X1000 wasn't booting unless I unplugged it and held the top power button down for up to 60 seconds. it also wouldn't turn off via the top power button nor reset via the top reset button.
I changed the BIOS battery and it's incredibly behaving itself again. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Re: X1000 / Radeon 6570 - not visible in Prefs/Screenmode/Av
Thanks for your input, ddni! It made me check that I'd installed it, which I knew defintely had from the Amistore, but I checked anyway. However, I read in the 1.2 readme that it was an *update*, which made me think that I needed to install the 1.0 driver as a baseline.
I'm not sure if that's the ...

[Solved] X1000 / Radeon 6570 - not visible in Prefs/Screenm
Hi all
Just installed 4.1FE this evening, but I'm stuck in 1024x768 instead of 1920x1080.
Prefs/Screenmode reports that I am using a mode called "Board0" where in 4.1.6 it said (I think) "RadeonHD".
The monitors tab shows the 6570 card. There is an entry in Devs:Monitors for the 6570 too but it ...
