Glad the topic was there and wish I had looked at the forum sooner.
I spent all day and all night yesterday troubleshooting every single component trying to figure out why my machine would turn on and immediately cut the power off as soon as I pressed the power switch.
Bypassing the switch with ...

Re: Seeking advice on installing Linux
Did you try it with your CF card?
Yes I tried from the usb and CF, in boot cases it turns the screen black and gets stuck. Since it appears to choke when trying to switch the display to some other mode, iIt may have something to do with having two gfx cards, I don't know.
Thank you for the ...

Hi Niels,
By OS4 boot partition I meant SYS:

Seeking advice on installing Linux
Hi,
I'd like to install Linux on my X1000 to have a Linux-based environment for compiling code with gcc.
So far I have been able to boot off the A-Eon's Debian Wheezy USB flashdrive and also just load the 3.5.5 kernel from it and the root partition off of one of my HDDs.

Re: Please add driver for Silicon Image 3132
Unfortunately the 3132 IC is very different from the 3112/3114/3512 series so it would require a lot of work. So it depends on whether there's enough of a need for it and any of the driver developpers has the time to do this.

Re: A button to make a new drawer while using ASL and Instal
It would be handy but it would also increase the complexity of the requester, it already has 4 buttons while most requesters only have 2 or 3 (OK/Cancel or Save/Use/Cancel).
As it stands now you can either use the menu, the RAmiga-N shortcut, or type the new drawer name in the path directly and in ...

Re: Menu Bar as a Window Status Bar
@nbache/trixie
I understand it as showing the menu from the window title (or right below it) rather than on the screen titlebar.

Re: Hard drive dead?
You might just have caused a bad connection somehow or have a bad sata cable, they don't like getting bent more than once, much like telescopic antennas

Re: Update to DATE breaks Titleclock?
I can confirm the issue. I hadn't noticed as I've been using DigiClock instead.
Since 53.3 Date no longer can be made resident.
IMHO Date is one of those commands which sometimes needs to be run many times and benefits from being resident when disk access is not desirable so I'll see what I can do ...

Re: finally install sii 3512...works but won't boot
Does uboot support that Sata controller? E.g. can you see the controller in uboot?
If so, did you update the uboot settings to boot from the sata controller?
To rule out RDB/FS/bootflags issues, load the kickstart from IDE and then go to the Early Startup Menu by holding Scroll Lock or both mouse ...
