Old packages like SuperTuxkart 0.8.1 for openSUSE PPC64: opensuse.blizoo.mk

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.

I have a HD 5450 which works with all other distros, also with an older Tumbleweed installation. I did not do any update myself. I hope this new installation is not trying to do such automatically? Tested also without net connection available, no difference.

Can you switch with CTRL-ALT-F1 (F2, F3, F4 etc) to another terminal?

Yes... I already tested manual login with both 'amigaone' and 'root' accounts, and then 'lightdm', but no difference.

Please switch to another terminal and delete the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Then reboot your X5000.

Deleting xorg.conf did not help... Besides, it was identical to the one I have on my older, working Tumbleweed installation.

Tried also by creating a new user account via the text based Yast, but logging by using the new account did not change anything.

Is there anyone else who has tested this newest Tumbleweed image? Does it work for you...?

Have you seen any error messages in the log files?

You can set up another display manager in the config file /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager. Please open this config file as root and set up your favorite display manager with editing the line DISPLAYMANAGER. For example:

Code: Select all

DISPLAYMANAGER="xdm"
http://www.amigalinux.org
http://www.supertuxkart-amiga.de

You can set up another display manager in the config file /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager. Please open this config file as root and set up your favorite display manager with editing the line DISPLAYMANAGER. For example:

Code: Select all

DISPLAYMANAGER="xdm"
That line was totally missing from the 'displaymanager' file. But adding it did not help... Tested with both "lightdm" and "xdm".

Roland,

On which port from your graphics card did you connect your monitor? Can you connect your monitor to another port?

Cheers,

My monitor has DVI and VGA connectors but neither of them gives picture with this newest Tumbleweed image.
