Hi All,

Here is the alpha5 of kernel 5.2 for testing. :-)

New:
It also includes:
  • X5000 and X1000: vgaarb patch for solving the issue with two graphics cards in an AmigaOne. Link to the bug report: Bug 109345 - drm-next-2018-12-14 -Linux PPC
  • X5000: Additional test kernel (uImage-hid4) because of the issue with Logitech wireless USB mice
  • X1000: compressed kernel (zImage) and uncompressed kernel (vmlinux)
CF cards test thread: forum.hyperion-entertainment.com

BTW, I created a new PowerPC cross compiling environment on ubuntu MATE 18.04.2 LTS x86_64 (GCC 7.4.0) three days ago. This kernel has been compiled with this new cross compiling environment.

@SailorMH
Please test it with your CF cards.

@Ace
Please test the default kernel (uImage-5.2) with your two installed graphics cards and the additional test kernel (uImage-hid4) with your Logitech wireless USB mouse.

Thanks,
Christian

FYI: The Better Logitech Wireless Device Support In The Linux 5.2 Kernel

Unfortunately it doesn’t work with Ace’s Logitech mouse.

@Ace
Have you created a bug report?

xeno74 wrote: Hi Allan,

Could you also please create the following xorg.conf (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and reboot your X5000 with the stable kernel 5.1?

Code: Select all

Section "Device"
        Identifier "ATI RV620 [FirePro 2260]"
        BusID   "PCI:5@4096:0:0"
EndSection
Hi All,

Allan tested the new xorg.conf today.
Allan wrote: Christian
I tried to use the new xorg for the Firepro but would only boot to black screen.

Allan
OK, I know that I have to patch the RC2 with the vgaarb patch again tomorrow.

Michel thought that the new xorg.conf solves the issue and closed the bug report. I have reopened the bug report because Allan did not have a chance to test the new xorg.conf.

Now, we know that the new xorg.conf doesn’t solve the problem.

@Allan (ace)

Thanks a lot for testing the new xorg.conf! Could you please post the result in the bug report thread? (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109345)

Thanks,
Christian
