Kernel 4.19

Hi All,

The Linux 4.19 kernel merge window is open for merging. Linus Torvalds has added a lot of new source code to the Linux Git. Darren created a new Nemo patch for our AmigaOne X1000 last week. He'll split it into a couple of patches and then he will submit these to the Linux kernel developers. I created the first alpha with Darren's new patch today.

New:

Please test it.

Thanks,
Christian

To bad,.. even more issues with the DPAA Ethernet part.

Image

(Click http://www.skateman.nl/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Screenshot-at-2018-08-16-202817.jpg for a bigger screenshot)

In the past the MII-tool did respond but now the outcome is:
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth0' failed: Invalid argument
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth1' failed: Invalid argument
no MII interfaces found

The DPAA Ethernet adapter does get probed.
[ 5.878766] fsl_dpaa_mac ffe4e6000.ethernet eth0: Probed interface eth0
[ 5.885851] fsl_dpaa_mac ffe4e8000.ethernet eth1: Probed interface eth1

Ethtool does give some info..
skateman@X5000LNX:~$ ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
Supported ports: [ MII ]
Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
1000baseT/Full
Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only
Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
1000baseT/Full
Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only
Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
Speed: 10Mb/s
Duplex: Half
Port: MII
PHYAD: 3
Transceiver: external
Auto-negotiation: on
Cannot get wake-on-lan settings: Operation not permitted
Current message level: 0x00000037 (55)
drv probe link ifdown ifup
Link detected: no

The DPAA Eth0 is connected to a Gigabit Switch but no activity or link led.

Will try to do some more testing..

Hi Skateman,

Many thanks for testing the alpha3 and thanks for testing the DPAA Ethernet. Sorry because of the bad test results with the DPAA Ethernet.

Cheers,
Christian
