What revision of motherboard in X5000 you have?

Post by dzanino »

Mine was built in 2019 (according to the sticker on the motherboard)
but in U-Boot it says: P5020 Rev 2.0

I am just curious, if it should not be 2.2?

According to this link:
http://wiki.amiga.org/index.php/AmigaONE_X5000

Thank you for your time

Check your Board, my Beta board says 2.1 as it should, but U-Boot states 2.0

He means you should check your actual motherboard, the hardware, for the version number.
It should be written somewhere on the hardware...of course, if you have it installed in a case you might want to (i'd rather you not) take it out, because there might be components covering the actual version number if installed (cables, cards, dust, flies, mice, lizards etc).

Thank you

Only what is well seen is a sticker "23.02.2019"
So I believe it should be one from the newest revisions
And in UBoot Screen it says:
"Type: P5020 Rev: 2.0 Speed: 1995"...
"Firmware: U-Boot 2014.04 (Oct"

Also want to know if the U-Boot is the latest version?
I am little bit confused, because I am new to the X5K world, and could not find proper answer

Also, for example: Hyperion in the "Downloads" section has "AmigaOne firmware updates", but does it belong to A1 X5000?
Where can one find the latest UBoot update? Have you ever done one?

I am sorry and also thank you for answers

U-Boot Current Version:
In "AmigaOS only boots from install DVD" on page 2 @tonyw helped me figure this out for my board.

The downloads appear to be from 2005 so probably not for X5000

Don't confuse the versions of U-Boot and "amigaboot".

The SD card holds an image containing U-Boot, amigaboot, the boot animation code, the default ENV variables, etc. Each of those components can be independently updated.

There are several versions of U-Boot around for X-5000s and I'm not familiar with them all. I only have access to two versions and I'm trying to get amigaboot to work with all of them. U-Boot is these days maintained by an external developer not associated with Hyperion, so we have some compatibility issues.

It is possible to get an image of the whole SD card (32 MB) and update the SD card using the "RawWrite" command. It is also possible to update just the "amigaboot" part of the SD card by using the "UpdateAmigaBoot" command. Both of those commands, along with the "RawRead", "RawVerify" and "SDVersion" commands, run under OS4. They are low-level developers' and hackers' tools and not intended for use by the general public.
cheers
