Strange, my X5000 doesn't seem to like diskimage.device I tried installing the latest version (53.4) from OS4depot using the provided installer, but it booted into a blank Workbench screen (the screen has a normal title bar with "Workbench Screen" in it but otherwise it's empty (light-grey). The problem seems to be caused by the mounting of the new devices added to DEVS:DOSDrivers/ because when I booted from the install CD and deleted IDF0:, ICD0: and co., my system booted normally.
Has anyone had better luck with diskimage.device on the X5000?

Re: Diskimage.device problem
I have been running it on my X5000 for years so yes i have better luck with it
Re: Diskimage.device problem
Maybe the devices are being mounted during boot-up, and they have a higher boot priority than your partitions, so WB is trying to boot from them?
Re: Diskimage.device problem
Problem solved, it was all my own fault. I had disabled "fastfilesystem.kmod" in the Kicklayout, which was a stupid thing to do. It didn't occur to me that diskimage.device would need it to mount IDF0: etc.
