X5000 supported PCIe x1 - SATA controller (SEDNA)?

I already posted this on Amigaworld.net - maybe this forum has any comments?

I acquired a SEDNA - PCI Express (PCIe) SATA III (6G) SSD/HDD Adapter with 1 SATA III port
(https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FVXMGTY/ ... 41_TE_dp_1)

The HDD is recognized by AOS4.1 if I plug it into an external USB-SATA II adapter but is not recognized when installed on the internal SEDNA adapter card.

Does anyone have experience with this type of adapter (various posts say that SIL3512 and VANTEC is supported but I can't find anything on SEDNA)

Ranger recognizes it as Serial ATA from ASMedia Technology Inc.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Niels,

I also have a PCIe AsMedia controller in my X5000. Attached is a SSD drive with my Ubuntu Linux installation.
This controller is not supported by OS4.1 FE as far as i know... Only the Sillicon Image ones.(with the right chipset)

The AsMedia controller is listed in the screenshot

True, the controller is not supported by OS4 (there is no driver for it).

The ID string can be read by Ranger, SysMon or any other utility as it is standard PCI/PCI-e protocol.

Thanx for input - I'll try it out on a Linux distro :-)
