I have Fienix up and running on my X1000. Unfortunately, this ole box is in fairly poor shape. Mostly the SB600. Put anything in the PCI slots and she won't even start-up. The PATA port is bonked, on-board network got taken out by lightning.

My present working(?) setup is:

ATI HD6850 using HDMI with VGA adapter with sound split out.
RealTec 8111/8168 without required firmware. Works well enough for now.
JMicron PATA/SATA PCIe card. Not in kernel 4.20, not working.
Fienix on SDA1 and SDA3
Amiga OS on second port, ide0.1.
DVD drive on ide1.0. Would need to rearrange to load OS off CD/DVD.
Booting off ext2 CFcard.

I will be interested in rebuilding the kernel to more suit this machine so the first question is who can assist me with that?

It's working, and that is the important part. Good job, two 'Atta boys' for now. :-)

Which kernel option shall I activate for your PATA/SATA PCIe card?

Maybe the following option?

CONFIG_PATA_JMICRON: JMicron PATA support

Yes, that is the one. It seems the SATA will not work unless PATA is active. It's a JMB363 card.

I will try to add it to the RC7 of kernel 5.2 next week. If it works for you then I can add it to the stable kernel 5.1 as well.

Thanks Christian.
Looking forward to giving it a try.

FYI
I just tested the 5.1 and 5.2 versions of your kernels on my X1000 and they both fail to boot. They produce a COMMRESET failing ata3, ata4 ,ata5.Then a kernel panic.

This could be due to the sorry condition of my NEMO, I don't know. However, the 4.20 and the 5.0 builds work fine.

Hi Mechanic,

Thanks for testing! :-)

Unfortunately the kernel 5.0 and 4.20 have reached the end of their life.

You could use the stable longterm 4.19 instead.
