Many thanks for testing! Your (L)Ubuntu 16.10 should boot with the stable kernel 4.8.8 because ubuntu MATE 17.04 boots on my X1000 without any problems. I don't know what the problem is.zappa2009 wrote:As written in the Kernel4.9 Threat:

No errors are reported. I think its not compatible with the Driver for Realtek RTL8192CU/RTL8188CU.
Its not a real Problem.
Ubuntu 16.10 cannot boot with 4.8.8 but with 4.9.rc5.
Graphics are RadeonHD5450 4GB Ram and 2 Sata-HDDs (AOS4 + Debian9 + Ubuntu16.10) and one with Fedora25.
