Kernel Generic-HID Device-my case [Solved]

Post by jdupuis »

Hi,

Changed my keyboard to a different model on my X1000. When Kernel 4.1.20 boots I see "Generic-HID .....Device has no listeners, quitting." It's no big deal because all is working fine. Just wondering if it is something to just ignore or do I need to change something.

Cheers!!

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.

Hi Christian,

That Thread looks like it. So what I did was just simply change the X1000 keyboard to a Ducky Shine 4 USB 2.0. I have the Dip Switch set on the keyboard to swap the Windows and Alt keys. Booted up the Kernel and got this message but everything works.
I have never been the brightest with the Linux Terminal. I'm a smart feller but not when it comes to Compiling and Recompiling and making settings change in the Kernel or System with the Terminal. I may need your guidance on this matter. Otherwise, I am enjoying the efforts of you and all with the "Updated" Mate 16.04. Of course, Ubuntu 12.04 as well. My system is stable.

Cheers!!

Hi all,

The Ducky Shine 4 keyboard has Dip Switches. By default it comes with the N-Key Rollover Mode (NKRO) enabled. Switch this Dip Switch Off for 6-Key Rollover Mode (6KRO).
6KRO Mode is more compatible with KVM or operating systems that do not support N-Key Rollover (NKRO). This took care of my Generic HID has no listeners fault! ;)
Note to those that have a gaming keyboard with this type of setting.
You may get a System Fault window on 16.04 desktop after boot. Follow through with sending the error report and it goes away.

Cheers!
