In Linux Debian Wheezy which uses Gnome I want to stop the Left Mouse Click in a window causing that window from coming to the top. Anybody know how to do that?
AmigaOS4 has that preference feature.
In CDE (common desktop environment) for Solaris there is a preference for whether one wants the window with the focus to always come to the front or not. I prefer not so I can edit at the bottom of the editor window while the looking at another window which is on top.
Does Gnome have such? I cannot seem to hold my mouth right to find a definitive answer by searching.

Re: stopping window focus causing "on top"
I doubt it. I too have, sadly, only ever seen that feature in CDE and AmigaOS.
But I'd be interested to hear if anybody else saw it elsewhere.
Best regards,
Niels
