Dual GFX setup with single Radeon HD 6870 1GB

Post by mrupp »

Hi there

When I ordered my X1000 last december, I opted for the highest gfx card available, which was the Radeon HD 6870 1GB (http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/ ... iew.aspx#1). It features two DVI connectors so I think it should be possible to set up a dual GFX display with this one card.
I tried duplicating the monitor file and renaming it to 'PCIGraphics' (and setting the CMPLENGTH and BOARDNAME tooltypes), but this doesn't show up as screenmodes.

Any conclusions? Does anybody have one of these cards as well and tried out something similar?

Greetings
Michael

Smarter people than me will respond fairly quickly, I bet... but I don't think we have any support in AmigaOS for multiple displays out of a single card, even though the hardware itself would support this. I have two RadeonHD cards in my X1000 to feed my two displays. One is a fairly high-end card (6850) and the other is a rather low-end card I already had on hand (4350).
