USB-Boot with AmigaOS possible ?

Post by zappa2009 »

Hi X1000-Man & WoMan ;)

Is an USB-Boot with AmigaOS4.1.6 on X1000 possible? Not for now but in the Future ?

This would be very cool to setup an OS4.1-Rescue-USB-Stick ;)

Being able to generate a rescue USB mem stick and/or CD ISO is something we want to move towards.

Step 1 was to get AmiUpdate integrated into the OS... ;)

What I imagined is that we would create a Python script which performed whatever magic was necessary to create the rescue image. If anybody out there wants to take a crack at it I certainly wouldn't mind. This is something a knowledgeable 3rd party could whip up after all.

I think CFE must load the USB-Stack from OS4.1.6 and then boot amigaone.of

Having a rescue on usb stick would be perfect. Even more perfect on that amigaone usb sticks from amigakit. They are 16gb if i remember right. Would be nice with 32gb.
