Hi Mechanic,
There is no Mixer option for the input. I only have Line In, Mic, CD, Aux and SPDIF?

Stupid question, but you have selected a music unit (e.g. 0) and saved the settings?

Chris F posted on Amigaworld re the position in the Startup-Sequence of the sound event.
I can confirm that moving the sound event to later in the startup-sequence fixes the scratchy start up sound issue.
Thanks Chris.

Re: Scratchy boot sound on X1000
This probably explains why I didn't hear a scratchy sound, as SoundPlayer is after LoadWB for me. Where was it for you guys?
Re: Scratchy boot sound on X1000
It was the first line after SetPatch.
Now it is after LoadWB.

That's very strange as the default for running the soundplayer boot up sound is after loadwb. (AmigaOS4.1 Update 5 "First Contact" Installation CD)ChrisH wrote:This probably explains why I didn't hear a scratchy sound, as SoundPlayer is after LoadWB for me. Where was it for you guys?
Anyway, I'm glad we finally got to the bottom of the issue.

Re: Scratchy boot sound on X1000
The sound event line was in my S-S twice, once after setpatch and also after LoadWB. The later command was commented out.
I simply switched them around. Perhaps amigakit made the original change?
I would be interested to hear if anyone can replicate the scratchy sound by running the sound event early in the S-S...
I use the default A1X100 boot .wav

Can someone explain in newbie fashion how I access this file site I can check mine? Also how I save the adjustment.

Yes.
Open a shell and type ed s/startup-sequence
Look for the line Run >NIL: *>NIL: SoundPlayer QUIET
It may be after the lines SetPatch and/or LoadWB
This is the command for the startup sound event. If the first character of the line is ; then it is disabled. Look for another incidence of the line lower in your Startup-Sequence.
I found the earlier incidence led to scratchy sound. The later one after LoadWB works fine.
Be careful with this file. Make a backup before changing anything.
If you change something, you will need to save it as startup-sequence in order for the change to take effect after reboot.
