The differences would be critical if the updated UBoot makes SOFISTISOFTWARE's gfx card run properlySpectre660 wrote:I dont know but it appears not to be critical .

@SOFISTISOFTWARE
Maybe ask ACube directly for the updated UBoot?

@Raziel
SOFISTISOFTWARE is the one without the problem.
virgola has the same card and Uboot version and has the problem

I have finally managed to obtain the serial debug.
Boot log using the default kicklayout of AmigaOS 4.1 FE
VGA, all is working fine

HDMI

Boot log using the same kicklayout, but using "RadeonHD.chip.debug" (v1.2) instead of "RadeonHD.chip" (v2.7)

@virgola
Looking at your logs, the driver successfully initialises the card (I can see that the initialisation function completes), and then the OS simply stops. It stops round where the graphics library is supposed to start reading the DDC buses to extract monitor information. I've seen this type of log before, and in the previous person's case a UBoot update solved it.
There are two possibilities:
- Your PCIGraphics.card is 53.9, which is a version that still tries to copy the ROM. More recent versions (which may not be publicly released yet) disable this for Radeon HD cards because it can cause trouble
- While unlikely, a UBoot update might still help. Yes, SOFISTISOFTWARE has the same card and UBoot version, but I've seen enough weird behaviour from these cards to not trust that 100%. For example, with one particular Radeon HD 6xxx model, one in every so many cards would intermittently boot to a black screen.
@SOFISTISOFTWARE
Which PCIGraphics.card version do you have on your machine?

@Hans
My PCIGraphics.card is v53.9 (20 Jul 2014, 80.380 bytes), so that's might be the origin of the problem I encounter.
Is it possible for a non beta-tester like me to test a newer unreleased version that might solve the problem?

You'll have to ask Hyperion that.virgola wrote:@Hans
