Hi, I'm trying to use HP Scanjet 5300c (USB) with my SAM460, how do I know what device/unit (ex.: USBblah.device/1) my scanner is using?

BTW trying to use ScanQuix5 (worked great with my A1-XE) with SAM460 (via USB HP scanjet) and everytime I try to define a new scanner it just crashes/GR. Has anyone configure an USB scanner with ScanQuix5?

Jep longtime ago. an Epson Perfection 1250 USB with scanquix5-USB and the Epsonusb.device. But on OS3.9

My Epson died 2010. But you can try with AmiCygnix on OS4.1 with Xsane and USB. ( its in OS4depot.net )

Yep, already rtied AmiCygnix, but with my HP Scanjet5300c USB it just start scanning, but aborts/stops (maybe some timeout issue). With ScanQuix I get a crash/GR , can't remember how I configure it with my other/old Scanjet 4p SCSI. ¿:-P

I will try these Days a EpsonPerfection1260 with AmiCygnix and xsane.
Will Report if it goes.

Yep it works.

Xsane need some time to warmup the scanner but it works.

Poor quality need to ajust some settings. Or buy a better scanner

well the HP scanjet 5300 USB (sort of) works under AmiCygnix (SAM460ex), it makes the preview image OK, but when I try the "final/real" scan it starts but at the middel of the scannig process it timesout
I have another machine (PC) with linux in which works fine :-/
And my "old" A1-XE had a Scanjet 5p SCSI attached and with Scanqui5 no problems (my problem now is that I don't have space in my room for sooo many machines).

ScanQuix 5 crash/GR solved by reinstalling from scratch but how do I now what device/unit is using the USB scanner?

Is there any scanner support in OS4 or is only hope to scan use amicygnix or scsi/scanner __
