Previously I was using Workbench 3.1 with Newicons 4.6 installed on it. After update to 3.1.4 Deficons stops working. I see only default icons for project, tool and so on. No file type recognition.

I've been building my A600 Furia with OS 3.1.4 for a few weeks....I use Peter K's icon library....v46.4....with fblit...all icons show up fine inc png icons....what spec Amiga you got ?

I'm also using Peter's icon.library but I'm not complaining about displaying icons. They appears ok but I'm writing about Deficons. System cannot recognize file types and not show proper icon. Only def_project.
I have AmigaOS 3.1.4 on Amiga 600, ACA620.

The problem is, that in theory "3.1.4" is in a lot of regards closer to "3.9" than "3.1". My suggestion would be to use the DefIcons subsystem from AmigaOS 3.9 - it works flawless with a (merged) 3.1.4 release.

I expect a lot more problems in the future - because the average user thinks (of course) 3rd party software for release 3.1 should work with 3.1.4 out of the box. I think we will see a lot of occasions where you need to use the 3.5 or 3.9 compatible software packages with 3.1.4. But maybe I'm just to pessimistic!

Deficons is what would make those Storage3.1.4:glowicons/Prefs/Env-Archive/def_#?.info icons useful.
