Question about future of AmigaOS 4.1 and 4.2

Hello,

Amiga was my first computer when I was child. I was using it from 1994 till 2000 year, then I was forced to move to PC. Recently I came back to Amiga. First I restored my A1200 into working state with 060, Indivision AGA, WiFI and 3.1.4 OS (purchased from Hyperion), then I found two NOS (new old stock) A1200 Magic Packs and purchased them, just in case for the feature :).

Now I'm considering about X5000 purchase, however I see that AmigaOS 4.1 was updated long time ago. If I would knew that Hyperion is going to release AmigaOS update for 4.1 or even long awaited 4.2, that would help me to move forward. I don't expect Hyperion to answer my question, but maybe someone from forum members has some information?

Thank you

Hello hlt, Hyperion is the only one who can answer your question. Beta testers are under a NDA so we can't comment on AmigaOS 4's future.

About the hardware... I think A-EON is doing a great job by providing new PPC computers to Amiga, MorphOS, and Linux users. I'm looking forward to the AmigaOne A1222 release.

Not that we are told things like this anyway ... but yes, even if we did know anything, "we could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you".

Best regards,

Niels

Thank you Spektro and Nbache, I understand importance of NDA :). Probably will have to buy X5000 and hope that AOS development continues...
