On booting OS4.1FE the message above appears (behind my Workbench Window)
Checking for that file, it does exists. ??
6.ENV:Sys> list loc#?
locale.prefs 894 ----rw-d Today 09:38:58
1 file - 894 bytes - 2 blocks used
A Visible effect is also that the background patttern i did chose with wbpattern.prefs does not appear either.
I can use the computer (SAM460ex) correctly as long as i don't close theat message, then the WB screen disappears,
but not other public screens usch as the Odysssey screen i am working on. typing this
Now i ipload this post and quit Odyssey ( & therfor its screen closes)
What hapende (editing my post)
my WB appears again, with the correct background, but also with the same error message
"Could not open file env:sys/locale.prefs"
I did open Snoopy to see what happens
When i close the error message this time the Workbench stays visible .
So i guess the Snoopy output won't reveal much.
I couldn't upload it anyway

Have you recently installed Wordworth? If yes, check s:user-startup for an assign ENV:. Remove the entire block from ;BEGIN ENV to ;END ENV.
